Q: Is there any warranty for this product if I buy Online?
A: No, neither Yamaha nor any of the Yamaha authorized service centers would provide any warranty if there is a defect (manufacturing defect). There was a defect on one of the guitars (FC 100C) purchased on Amazon – i.e. warping (bulging and bending at the bridge) after 3 months. The Yamaha authorized service centers are not willing to fix it because it was purchased online. Yamaha’s response was that the sale of Yamaha guitars on Amazon or any online portal is not authorized and will not be covered under warranty, even if there is a manufacturing defect. Amazon’s response was that the product is genuine and to call Yamaha and ask them to cover it under warranty. The product is now 9 months old and has become almost unusable. The seller may agree to fix any defect on his own, but not through Yamaha warranty.
