Description

Add a mini printer to your microcontroller project with this adorable thermal printer. Thermal printers, also known as receipt printers, are commonly found in ATMs and grocery stores. Now, you can have your own compact printer enclosed in your project. This printer is perfect for connecting to a microcontroller. All you need is a 3.3V-5V TTL serial output from your microcontroller to print text, barcodes, bitmap graphics, and even QR codes!

The package includes the thermal printer with the print head (no ink required), power and data cables, and two plastic shims for panel mounting. Please note that thermal paper is not included. The printer uses standard 2.25″ wide thermal paper, which can be easily found in any office or stationery supply store. The paper bay can hold up to 50 ft of paper at once.

To power the printer, you will need a 5 to 9VDC regulated power supply that can provide 1.5A or more during high-current printing. Our 5V 2A power supply is highly recommended. We also suggest getting a roll or two of 50′ long thermal paper and a 2.1mm jack terminal block adapter for easy power adapter connection. If you prefer a convenient starter pack, we have one available that includes all the necessary items.

What sets this printer apart is its versatility. You can easily create bold, underline, and inverted text, adjust line spacing, and choose left, center, or right justification. It even supports barcodes in 11 standard formats with adjustable height, as well as custom bitmap graphics. We want to ensure your success with this printer, so we provide a full tutorial and a matching Arduino library. The tutorial covers printing with small, medium, and large text, bold and underline text, inverted text, variable line spacing, and different barcode formats such as UPC A, UPC E, and E.
